Under the Gully : The Sea
Edda lives on the North sea island of Föhr. Surfing is her favourite pastime, and Jasper, new to her class, is her favourite company. In their sundry discussions, no topic is out of bounds. But Edda wants to put him to the test. So she turns her back on him - just to see what will happen. Just before the end of her final year at school, she ups sticks and leaves. She hitch-hikes to Berlin, smack into the middle of the left scene. With Jasper always on her mind, Edda goes for it, hook, line and sinker: Opposition to the evils of globalization, commitment to the struggle for a just world, and the run-up to the G8 summit in Heiligendamm. Suddenly things take a turn for the worse: During a scuffle with the police a girl is hit by a fatal bullet. But Edda’s group sticks together, and when they receive reinforcements, Edda is in for a big surprise: It’s Jasper.
